Hotel Sunroute Asakusa

I liked how nice, kind and helpful the workers were, and how pretty the view from our room was. I liked how clean the bathroom was and loved that there were a lot of great restaurants and cool places close to the hotel. We were so disappointed to find a dried blood stain and some spot stains on our bed sheet the last day before check‑out. We told the staff about it but they seemed not to care, which was weird; they apologized but I don’t know because of the language barrier, they just said “oh you’re okay” when we weren’t. If we had known there was a blood stain on our sheet we would not have slept on it! I hope you do a better check on who cleans the rooms and please change the bed sheet; the dried blood stain is not okay, it’s disgusting.

The location was quite good in Asakusa. You could walk to the Asakusa Shrine and the center of Asakusa with many restaurants, etc. The shops in this area close relatively early, so it’s quieter in the evenings. The room was clean. The value for money did not match for us at all. Compared to other hotels we booked in Japan, this hotel could not deliver the same standard and was significantly more expensive. The hotel and its facilities are outdated. The bathroom sometimes smelled unpleasantly of drain. The rooms were clean but uncomfortably small; the fact that you have to expect smaller rooms in Tokyo should be clear, but the size was a burden compared to other hotels. The window could not be opened. The air conditioner could not be properly regulated, so it was either too cold or too warm. The staff were okay but not especially friendly (which is different from what you’re used to in Japan).
