The hotel has a gorgeous atrium steeped in tradition, and the rooms are beautiful with very large bathrooms. It sits right next to Xi’an’s Great Wall, and in the evenings a few steps away you’ll find a street that fills with amazing street food. The only downside was that the room felt a little damp.

The hotel sits right in the middle of everything, which was super convenient for getting around. Unfortunately the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, and there was a strong urine smell in the lobby. To make matters worse, a few cats were roaming the hall all day, which was pretty off‑putting.

This place is just a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Ancient City, so you’re right in the middle of the morning market and can snack all day. The bathroom was surprisingly high‑tech – felt like a Japanese toilet. All in all, I’d love to come back.

The location couldn’t be better – bars, restaurants and the city wall are right next door, and the staff were eager to help, even giving us a Xi’an stamp. The only thing that bothered us was seeing three cats locked in the lobby the whole time; it made us feel sorry and knocked a star off our rating.
