The meals were delicious, which was a plus, and although the building was old, the Bali‑style rooms suited me well. The bathroom, however, was not very user‑friendly.

The staff were very helpful and polite, but the onsen didn’t live up to my expectations.

The food was reasonably tasty, and I stayed in a western‑style room that had a proper bathroom and an unobstructed view of the Pacific; listening to the night surf while watching the distant lighthouse was charming, and having separate dining areas for families with children and adult‑only groups meant we didn’t have to worry about each other. On the downside, the toilet door wouldn’t close fully and the light switches were all clustered together, making night‑time bathroom trips inconvenient; also, 100 V outlets were only by the sink and in a corner of the room, so setting an alarm on my phone meant it was far from the bed and hard to reach, and the jacuzzi‑style tub was slippery, which could be risky for older guests.
