The staff and manager handled everything with ease; the old‑world building and pub were lovely, service was great. It’s not a modern setup, so don’t expect that, but it was clean, comfortable and we had a great stay.

The location is good and the value for money is great. Parking was a bit far, but that’s not a real issue unless you’re not very mobile or have a lot of luggage.

The staff were excellent, even meeting us outside the door to help my elderly mother with her luggage and to assist her up the stairs, which was very thoughtful. We booked two rooms; they were clean and comfortable, though there was a slight odor in the single room.
