“Wonderful short stay with amazing walks on the doorstep with Pooh and his friends houses to find.”

The staff greeted us warmly, and there was plenty of easy parking and a friendly reception. Our room had all the essentials—iron, hairdryer, water, biscuits, and even a shoe shine—and the bed was comfy with huge pillows. The views were amazing, and the local walks were stunning, perfect for a short or longer stroll. We hadn’t booked breakfast with our room rate because we weren’t sure of the timings for other plans, but ordering breakfast would have cost £32 each.

Cleanliness and comfort are excellent and the location is amazing, with friendly and helpful staff, but the bar drinks and snacks are far too pricey compared to elsewhere, the 12.5 % service charge feels excessive, and it’s odd to have to order starter, main, and pudding as soon as you’re seated when you usually don’t know if you’ll want pudding until after the main course.

“Comfortable room - check-in not great”

The room was comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. We booked and confirmed an early check‑in the day before, but the staff were not very helpful and our request was not honored; knowing this beforehand would have changed our decision to stay.

The old‑style décor matched the surroundings, and the staff were fabulous. It was a bit pricey, but the food was excellent. The bed was very comfortable, the room was large, and the overall spot was lovely.

The location was gorgeous, the breakfast was excellent, and the brasserie had friendly service. The rooms were pretty, spacious, and the bathrooms were good. The mattress in room 14 needs replacing, and we would have preferred the three booked rooms to be in the same wing.
