I was right in the middle of the places I wanted to visit and could jog to Pulau Melaka easily; it was just a basic room suitable for a short emergency stay. The bathroom water heater was fine, but the whole room felt old, including the bed, towel and sheet, though they were cleaned and functional. An iron was available outside the room. The front‑desk uncle was very friendly and helpful in every way. There was no hanger for extra clothes, no TV, and the bathroom can be slippery—bring your own shampoo and body wash. No drinking water was provided. The entire property, inside and out, was full of cigarette smoke, and the walls were thin enough that I could hear a Chinese lady screaming in ecstasy in broad daylight.
