We picked Kahal because of its great location, the bed was comfortable, the cleaning was good, and the staff were very friendly. However, the noise was a major issue: the adjacent restaurant/bar played loud live music until 11:00 p.m., the air conditioning made a lot of noise at night, and the rooms were very exposed to hallway noise. The included breakfast was very limited and portions were tiny—for example, the chilaquiles were just a few totopos with salsa. Any extras cost extra, like two small slices of bread that cost $75 pesos. The most surprising thing was that when we accidentally broke a glass, we were charged $350 pesos, which we felt was too high for a luxury hotel where such accidents are usually covered. Another odd detail was that to borrow an umbrella you have to sign a liability waiver. Overall, it feels like the hotel is obsessed with charging you for everything. Finally, the parking associated with the hotel is closed on Sundays and Mondays, forcing you to find street parking.
