The staff were very friendly, the hotel and rooms were tidy, and the basic setup offered great value; breakfast was tasty. I left my phone charger behind during check‑out, but they went out of their way to contact me and mailed it to our next hotel in Phuket—top service. The only downside was the lack of extras like a swimming pool.

Our stay at Le Wiang was superb: a neat resort tucked into the alleys near Canal Walk and temples in the Old City. From owner Mr Pao (hoping his head injury has healed) to managers Jeep and Pao and support staff Fa and Nuan, everyone made the experience wonderful—they’re perfect. Nothing to dislike, though the compact room size surprised me after 26 years of hotel stays; I had assumed a Standard Twin meant two rooms, which was a joke.
