The location was excellent, the place was historic yet modernized, and we stayed in the new room, which was fantastic.

The hotel looked lovely and the bedroom matched that vibe, but the bathroom entrance was a real hazard. We had to step down to get in, and my husband, after showering, missed the step—there’s no clear yellow strip or handrail. He fell into the bedroom and landed flat on his face. Management needs to fix that.

The room was spacious, bright, and spotless, and the bed was super comfy. The balcony gave a nice view of the lake and was perfect for a cocktail at dusk. We walked about a block and a half to the boardwalk for a pleasant evening stroll. The area is quiet, surrounded by big houses, and there’s no shopping within walking distance. Breakfast was decent but could have started earlier than 8 am; that’s a minor gripe that didn’t ruin the stay.
