The location, pool and breakfast were very good. They’re flexible about breakfast time and quantity. The room is spacious except for the small washbasin area. The washbasin is tiny and no hot water came out.

The pool was impeccably clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s close to the beach and local restaurants; just walk past the Cinnamon hotel in front and you’re on the beach. I recommend Lost Souls and New Teddy’s restaurants nearby. The air conditioning worked well. The room had a set of bunks in addition to a large double, so there wasn’t much space.

The staff were very helpful and let me check out late without any extra fee. It offered great value, and the breakfast included a good variety. I only stayed one night, so I didn’t get to use many facilities, but the pool area was lovely and the hotel sits right on the beach. The rooms feel a bit dated but they’re clean and comfortable.

The pool was clean, the staff friendly, and the bed comfortable with a mosquito net; breakfast included a nice fruit plate. The water pressure was very low, making showers difficult. The property needs general maintenance. It’s very close to the beach, but not on the beach, which matters in Zanzibar because you can’t use sunbeds, sit in the hotel bar, or eat at a beach restaurant unless you stay at a hotel that’s on the beach. The hotel also adds a 5 % charge on credit cards (e.g. Booking price plus 5 %), which we found unfair. The kitchenette is a funny space – I can’t imagine cooking there (see photo). There was no soap or toiletries in the room.

Nothing. It was not new, but rather aged and in need of renovation.
