The staff were amazing, and being in the middle of nowhere gave me the chance to see a clear night sky. However, the rooms had a lot of critters because of the location; we slept with scorpions and roaches, and the rooms had many gaps that made it easy for them to hide. The room also needed a bit of refreshing in my opinion.

I had a great experience with our host, who was really wonderful. Although we didn't have any complaints, we had been hoping to spot a jaguar in the wild, but unfortunately, that didn't happen - maybe next time! Overall, it was a lovely stay.

I had an amazing time at Chan Chich, with so many things to enjoy - the birding was exceptional, and we were able to spot almost 100 bird species on our own during our 3-night stay. The accommodations were quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast and coffee were excellent. However, I was disappointed with the overpriced dinner, which was $140 for three of us without appetizers, drinks, or dessert, and the portion was small.

I fell in love with the remote jungle setting, surrounded by unexcavated Mayan ruins, exotic birds, and wildlife. Our cabin was comfortable, with excellent hot showers, and the staff and guides were friendly and good. However, the food portions were huge, and we ended up splitting meals to avoid waste. Furthermore, we weren't warned about the poor road conditions to and from Gallon Jug, which required a four-wheel drive vehicle.
