I really enjoyed my time there. Kaisegi Dinner was superb, the private Onsen was amazing, and the valley views and location were stunning. The reception staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, which made it a perfect 10/10 if you appreciate classic charm like we did. Nothing to complain about.

The spot right by the river gave me a great view from the room and a relaxing time. I also used the private bath, which was wonderful with plenty of greenery in the open air. I would have liked a cold water bath in the sauna, but overall it was very comfortable.

The food was excellent. The TV sometimes didn’t work, so I had to flip the power switch a few times. The door construction felt insecure, and the bathroom tap didn’t shut off well.

The hotel manager was very pleasant, explained everything in detail, and handed out many useful tips and maps for the area. Those were really helpful. The staff preparing dinner were also very friendly and polite, explaining every detail of the meal. On top of that, there were nice amenities and a beautiful onsen. Coffee and ice sticks are complimentary for house guests. The timings for dinner weren’t very flexible, and the room could use some updates (the curtains were torn). Overall, it was still lovely, though a few more beverage options at dinner would be nice.

It was a wonderful, authentic ryokan. The room was huge and offered an amazing view over the river. The staff were incredibly kind and hospitable, including the gentleman who greeted us at check‑in (his English was amazing) and who gave us helpful info about the local trains. The ryokan served a full Japanese breakfast and dinner that were authentic and delicious. We had a private tatami room for every meal, and the servers were warm and gracious. Everything was wonderful! We definitely hope to return. The only thing we wished for was access to a balcony outside our room so we could sit outside and enjoy the view.
