“Stay at amayas hostel”
The room was huge and the AC was spot on—kept me cool all night. Clean, spacious, no complaints. I could just kick back after a long day.

They advertised it as Joloba, but it’s actually in Parismina—no boat, no way to get there. I tried to get a reply on May 23, got one on May 25, and by then it was too late. We ended up booking somewhere else because the place was basically a no‑show.

Right by the beach, no frills but exactly what you’d expect from a beach hostel. Great value for the price—nothing fancy, but it worked.

The place looked neglected—strong damp smell, portable AC that was noisy, one room had a fan. Vicky, the host’s mom, was sweet and did her best to settle us. There’s a kitchen and a tiny grocery in the village, but the restaurant was closed that Sunday. We came hoping to visit the turtle research center, only to find it shut for the season, so we just ended up walking on the beach.
