After visiting the Ötztaler Explorer last year, this was my second stay with an Explorer; the setup is identical, so you get used to it instantly. Even without a car, the bus and DB-Regio are easily reachable, and connections to GAP run on a normal schedule. However, instead of just one all‑in‑one liquid soap that you have to move between the shower and sink, consider adding two containers—one for hand soap and one for shower gel.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the location was quiet with plenty of dining options, the view from the window with a seating nook was great, and the breakfast was wonderful.
