The welcome was superb, with a lot of kindness and friendliness from the hosts; everything was perfect from the reception to the rooms, breakfast, and the pool, and when we arrived my daughter, amazed, asked if such a castle had belonged to a king, and after a smile we learned that Jean‑Baptiste Bernadotte had stayed there before becoming king of Sweden and Norway—so my daughter was right and our stay truly felt royal, looking forward to returning to see the archives and fossils in the river.

The castle is stunning and very peaceful, with cicadas adding to the atmosphere. Laurence and Bertrand welcomed us warmly and were very friendly. Breakfasts are generous, so I recommend them.
