Everything about this beautiful hotel is loved. The shower feels a little limp and might need some attention.

The location is close to the city center yet far from any noise and extremely quiet. The hostess was warm, friendly, chatty and very informative, making us feel instantly at home. Breakfast service was excellent, the food was tasty and beautifully presented, and we adored the old‑world charm and décor. There was nothing we disliked.

The place is amazing! The house’s structure is very beautiful with a pleasant interior décor, and it offers many other qualities. It’s located in a very quiet and safe area of Stellenbosch, easy to reach by car, and has ample parking. The outdoor area seemed good with a pool, but we didn’t use it because of the cold weather. We rented a room on the 2nd floor that was spacious, very comfortable, with an exceptional bed, a shower with good pressure and hot water, and excellent air conditioning. The wardrobes were very roomy, especially for luggage. The highlight was the breakfast, which was simply exceptional! It outshone many 3‑4 star hotels around. It was an English‑style breakfast with great filtered coffee and many tasty à‑la‑carte options, perfect for fueling up before the region’s wine tastings. The team was very attentive, helpful, and polite. We had two minor issues during our one‑day stay, but nothing that seriously compromised our experience. First, we noticed some stains on the bedding that seemed like pre‑existing dirt, suggesting a lapse in cleaning; I suggest extra attention during laundering. Second, our room had a ceiling lining of mixed straw and masonry with wooden beams. In the afternoon, we found several insects on our bed, identified as “Pulgas de Jardim,” harmless to humans but likely coming from the ceiling lining. The staff responded promptly and cleaned the bed, but the issue wasn’t fully resolved. We suspect rain may have let them in through the ceiling. A candid suggestion would be to replace this type of ceiling lining with standard masonry like in other rooms.
