The room was clean and the shared areas looked elegant, but the reception fell short. When we arrived, the staff at the Czech Republic branch couldn't speak proper Czech, and they made us haul our luggage from the central parking lot without offering any shuttle service or a more welcoming approach. I asked for a headache medicine and was rudely denied, told there was no first aid kit and it wasn’t possible. The minibar we were supposed to have included was empty, even after two attempts. The only pleasant interaction was with the driver who did everything possible to help us upon arrival, for which we’re grateful. The foreigner at reception was unhelpful, ruining our first impression and it didn’t improve during the stay.

Breakfast offered a good variety, though more fresh fruit for yoghurt lovers would have been nice. The coffee machine worked well and brewed excellent coffee, cappuccino, and the like. We dined at the restaurant and all the salads were very good. Reception and restaurant service were excellent, and the staff were exceptional. Rooms were clean, updated, and well furnished, though a small refrigerator would have been nice. Last year our rooms were larger with a view of the square; this year they’re smaller and no view. The hotel was fully booked, and we think we received complimentary upgrades last year. C’est la vie!
