The attentions: a romantic dinner on the first night with small onions, a hot water bottle for the safari and blankets, incredible staff who were very professional and made each stay personalized, both for the lodge and the safari parts. Note that you have to pay substantial stay‑taxes beforehand because they are not included in the initial price.

Everything was amazing! The staff were friendly, attentive when needed, yet respectful of our privacy. The food was fabulous with flexible menus, and the swimming pool and its surroundings were lovely. The lookout tower offered comfy chairs overlooking the waterhole, and the game drives were exciting with incredible wildlife sightings led by the extremely knowledgeable guide Ricardo. All of this happened in a family‑friendly setting where the team made Xanatseni feel like a ‘Home from Home’, making our 4‑night stay unforgettable. There was nothing that needed improvement in our view.

The grounds were manicured, the setting quiet, and the pool lovely; rooms and common areas were spacious. We were only 45 minutes from Hoedspruit airport. Our guide Bryony and tracker Prince were very knowledgeable and passionate, and Tineal was a warm, welcoming host. Our bedrooms were tidied and the beds made twice a day, and the food was beautiful. We saw a wide variety of animals, from warthogs to leopards, and would recommend this stay to anyone. The only downside was that while the food was lovely and varied, I would have liked to try different game and bush meat such as ostrich or impala, and an outdoor shower by the pool would have been very handy.

The welcome was personalized and warm, almost like home. I had the chance to do two solo game drives with a friendly and professional guide and ranger who shared my interest in all the little 500s (birds, insects, flowers.). The food was delicious. I had to leave.
