The room was charming, quiet, had a fridge, a nice window to open, and was clean; the owner went above and beyond to help us with our luggage, but there were too many stairs to climb.

The double room without a balcony was a small, cozy nest with character, fitting the historic feel of Vernazza, and the cleanliness was excellent, but the access was really tricky with steep stairs and narrow spaces; I understand the building’s character but it should be noted that carrying bulky or heavy luggage up is very difficult, making it unsuitable for people with reduced mobility or large stature; the room lacked a wardrobe, only a small space in the landing was available, so it’s best for short stays.

The place was very clean and roomy, and I loved the private terrace outside the room; the staff went above and beyond to secure reservations at a restaurant we wanted to join; it sits right in the town center and is a short walk to the train station, a great little find; the bed wasn’t that comfortable, and carrying suitcases up steep steps was a challenge (as with most of Vernazza); the AC was tricky to cool enough.

We stayed on the 3rd floor and enjoyed the spacious rooftop terrace with a stunning view of the sea, village, and tower. The room itself was large and lovely, and the water pressure was excellent. The location was superb, and I would highly recommend it. The only downside was that the chairs at the bistro table on the terrace were a bit uncomfortable—perhaps some cushions would help. Everything else was perfect!

Our stay was wonderful, with a prime location. The host, Pat, was extremely helpful and reliable. I’d definitely return.
