“Try their coffee.”
Breakfast was excellent, the coffee was exceptional, and the staff were helpful, but it was always noisy and they did point that out.

I stayed in Hertford’s centre, and the spot was spot‑on. The rooms were nicely furnished and spacious enough for us. We were crashing after a friend’s wedding at the local Registry Office, and the front desk handed us a bottle of fizz to toast the occasion – a genuinely thoughtful gesture. On the flip side, we only stayed one night and found no hot water when we got back after a long evening out; we even tried turning the taps the wrong way, but it didn’t help. The next morning the shower was still freezing, and we had to rush out for work with a brutal cold shower. We told the front desk, who promised to investigate and call us, but we never received a single call or follow‑up. That was a real let‑down. We were in a room at the back of the hotel, and as soon as the kitchen started in the morning, the generator blasted a huge amount of noise and a strong smell. It was a warm night, and even with two fans in the room, it felt sweltering and made sleeping a nightmare. I can’t recommend this place.
