“Fürchterliche Unterkunft - nie wieder!”

The innkeeper tried to make things right by handing out free schnapps and was very friendly, but there was no breakfast despite it being advertised and we had counted on it for a big Sunday hike; the owners spoke no German and little English, we got a soda‑lemonade instead of soda, the white wine was gone, the restaurant was barely open serving only schnitzel with fries for €19 in a tiny portion, the shower water turned cold quickly, only two blanket covers were provided (one still damp) so we had to find a blanket in a box and spread it ourselves, the faucet wouldn’t shut off and ran all night, nobody was around in the morning and we only found a key that let us get out – I’ve traveled a lot but have never experienced anything like this.

It was relatively clean for the age of the accommodation, but it’s already very old and needs renovation soon.

The location was good because it’s inside the old town, surrounded by a nice environment. Because the building is very old, the common areas had a noticeable dusty smell, but after ventilating the room thoroughly we didn’t feel it. The furnishings were old-fashioned, but the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. We saw the front desk only when we checked in. There were no dining options, which is typical for the whole city, as we could hardly find an open restaurant at the end of August.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean and well maintained. We felt very comfortable and will gladly return. 💯
