We received a warm welcome from Aly and Simon and Jack 🐕. Their beautiful home felt warm and comfortable. Our garden room was clean and spacious with an outside door opening to the garden. Breakfast was fabulous. We 100 % recommend The Old Stables. Thank you for a wonderful couple of days.

“First class B&B with had a wonderful stay”

We were blown away by the accommodation—it surpassed what we’d imagined for a B&B. The hosts greeted us warmly and the bed was first‑class. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety, and there’s a local pub a short walk away that serves tasty food. No complaints, just a very positive experience.

The stay was full of thoughtful extras: a box of items for forgotten things, makeup‑remover wipes, homemade shortbread, and more. Breakfast was amazing—beautifully presented, filling, and even came with a printed sheet of that day’s weather. Simon and Alyson welcomed us warmly and booked a dining reservation at the nearby pub. They offered great suggestions and info about local sights. Nothing negative.

Breakfast options were exceptional; we really enjoyed them. The hosts took the time to check on us and chat, and they even included our dog in the conversation. They shared information about local events and followed up the next morning to see how we were doing. No negatives.

“If you want a short relaxing stay away from the world of woes this is the place”

This B&B was the best of the ones we’ve stayed at. The bed was excellent, parking was easy, the room was clean, modern, and offered lovely field views. The garden was well kept. A local pub just a short walk away offered good entertainment. Host Aly and Simon were engaging and ready to help with any request. Highly recommend. The only downside was that Shepton Mallet nearby looked a bit sad and in need of investment, and the small TV in the room didn’t appeal to us since we didn’t plan to watch TV all day.
