The rooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and clean, a high standard for a hostel. The staff were fantastic and the location is perfect. The breakfast was very average; I’d suggest eating somewhere else locally.

I really enjoyed my time at Latroupe La Granja. The staff were friendly and helpful. I began in a four‑bed women's dorm and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it; the privacy curtains made each bunk feel like its own little space. Later I moved to a private room that was very comfortable, spotless, and offered a great view, though it was a bit noisier from the street. The hostel has a café, a small bar, and a shared kitchen, so there are plenty of spots to cook, eat, read, work, or just hang out. The breakfasts were outstanding! The location couldn't be better – right across from the main train station, close to the subway, yet the neighborhood feels far from that gritty train‑station vibe. It’s actually lovely! A beautiful shopping street is right outside the door, and you can walk to so much of Bilbao. I also appreciated the mix of guests; everyone I met was friendly but generally respectful of each other’s space and privacy. There was a nice range of ages, and as an older traveler, I especially liked staying somewhere that welcomed people beyond the typical young backpacker crowd. It's a well‑run hostel. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
