The place sits right next to the Goryu Hakuba slopes, with a shuttle bus just 50 m from the front door. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and friendly, even offering luggage transport via Takkyubin. They also gave us a discount on rentals, which were both affordable and high quality. If you’re up for a 10‑minute uphill walk to Goryu, it’s doable. The room heating was superb.

The 4night stay here is very comfortable. The hosts are very nice and accommodating to our requests. Great value for group snowboarding trip! Their offer of discounted tickets for Hakuba Goryu & Hakuba 47 is good value for money too, saving us some cost ;) If you are looking to have a comfortable and peaceful dinner after whole day snowboarding or on the day you arrive, you should try their pre-booked dinner (needa book 1 day in advance). It is amazingly value for money and saving you lots of hassle for finding a place to eat. Highly recommended! Impressed to know that the hosts have been doing this lodging for 20 years, since 2005! Happy 20 anniversary, our amazing hosts!!!! 🥳🥳🥳. It’d have been better if we can use the kitchen. But we understand that the hosts need the kitchen for preparing the meals

Pension Ciel is a short walk from Goryu escal plaza—about 10 min uphill on a gentle slope. The free shuttle G2 to Goryu is only 100 m away, making the resort easy to reach. Getting to Sanosaka and Kashimayari is also simple via the nearby shuttle R2. However, reaching other northern ski resorts requires a transfer at the escal plaza to the paid shuttle V2, which isn’t convenient. The pension is run by a couple, and hostess Satoko is extremely friendly; I had a very comfortable three‑day stay and her husband drove me to the bus station on the last day. Every detail in the room reflects her careful attention to guests. I didn’t realize breakfast wasn’t included, so it’s a bit of a shame I’d have to pay an extra 1500 yen for it. The whole building is wooden and painted a beautiful blue.

Great owner, good service, but a bit too far from the ski resorts.
