“Beautiful quiet place, run by super friendly and helpful people.”
The hotel looks lovely and is very quiet because it’s essentially three separate cottages plus a reception/restaurant. The garden is stunning, kept immaculate, and you have your own patio overlooking it. Trees surround everything, so you can watch birds while enjoying a delicious breakfast. The pool is also well kept and provides a nice spot to cool off; the water was pleasantly warm, not too cold or too hot like some other pools we tried in August‑September, probably thanks to the shade from the trees. We had lunch twice and dinner once during our single‑night stay. The food really stood out—the best rice and curry we had on the trip, especially the dahl with great consistency and depth of flavour. The whole team is very friendly, and the host makes you feel at home. She also helped book a guide who showed us around the temples in Anuradhapura and took us to Mihintale on the day we arrived, all at the last minute. The only issue was a gap in the skylight of our bathroom; it was covered with a grate, which didn’t seal it completely. The grate provides ventilation but sometimes small critters slip in. It’s sealed by a glass door so they don’t get into the bedroom, but it’s something that could be improved.
