There were plenty of lovingly designed seating areas, the food was very good (though not the cheapest), it was really clean, but the Mountain House is also quite far from the action and the road that climbs up is extremely uneven.

The place was the most amazing we’ve seen in Georgia—from the food to the staff to the facilities. In short, words fail.

The owners were very friendly. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The facilities for relaxing were good and the area was very quiet.

The rooms were simple but very clean, shared bathrooms, plenty of outdoor seating options on the covered terrace or in the newly renovated lounge with a fireplace. The hosts were super nice and made everything possible. Breakfast was always there, and even when we arrived at 21:00 they cooked a fine menu for us. Not for 5‑star hotel vacationers, but perfect for nature lovers and those who want to meet the locals. An all‑wheel‑drive vehicle is helpful for the drive. Thanks for a great stay!
