“Enttäuschender Aufenthalt zum Saisonende einem 4-Sterne-Haus nicht angemessen”
We stayed two nights at the Samerhof, but we only realized on arrival that the hotel would shut down for the season right after we left. Had we known how this would affect the service, we wouldn’t have booked. The breakfast was disappointing for a 4‑star hotel—almost everything was empty and barely restocked, with only one kind of cheese, one kind of salami, and sometimes just a single slice. No fresh fruit, only an apple or hard pears when asked. Yogurt, drinks, and fruit salad were also scant. Dinner felt like a minimal effort at the end of the season, with many items appearing to be convenience or frozen food. The Germknödel for the kids arrived extremely hot and dry, like it had been microwaved. Overall, the hotel seemed to be in a state of season’s end, which would be understandable if you weren’t paying the full regular rate. Even the check‑out at the reception lacked a goodbye. On the bright side, Ellie from the childcare and the interns were incredibly friendly, warm, and did a fantastic job with the kids. The chef we met on the last day was also very friendly. The hotel itself has a lot of potential and a nice pool area, but our stay was heavily marred by the season’s end. Those paying the full price should receive full 4‑star service even on the last opening day. We would not recommend staying right before the season pause.
