The spot is spot on, but the beer is pricey.

The accommodation is great, friendly and worth staying if you’re in the area. It’s a little out of the way.

We were able to check in earlier than planned because the room was already set up; it was roomy and came with big, fluffy bath towels. The AC was there, though we didn't really need it. A staff member handed us some local tips that helped us plan our day. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty and laid‑back, and the place gets a lot of lunch traffic. I liked the countryside feel and the friendly pub vibe, so I’d come back for sure and would tell friends to stay here. The bathroom was nice but lacked shampoo, conditioner, facial tissues, and a wash/face cloth. The toilet tank was leaking, but the staff fixed it right away.

A family‑run free house with modern rooms, decent AC, quiet, free parking, great Wi‑Fi, and a pub area that served tasty food; the staff were excellent and it’s a 10‑minute drive to Highclere Castle.
