“MONEY TALKS”

The panorama was gorgeous, and if you can spare the money, the meals are truly one-of-a-kind and tasty. The food itself was decent and the staff were courteous, but watch out for hidden fees. When we arrived, we tried to settle the bill immediately, yet the owner wanted us to pay only at checkout, and the final amount was much higher than expected. There are almost no taxis or other transport nearby, so we had to take the hostel’s jeep, which was steeply priced. The transport cost alone nearly matched the price of two nights’ lodging. We were also forced to walk 4.5 km with roughly 30 kg of luggage. Confirm every price beforehand.

“Wonderful Homestay in a Beautiful place”

The couple running the place were warm, smiling, and did everything to make me feel comfortable, even arranging a guided motorcycle trip and a bus ticket when needed. I liked the cabin, though it felt a bit cramped. On the bright side, the view from the cabin was spectacular.

The view was excellent, and the basic bungalow was adequate for a single night. In Mu Cang Chai, there aren’t many fancy restaurants, so after a long, tough ride I had dinner at the homestay as the only option. I ended up in an awful situation: a small table with plain rice, chicken, vegetables, and dried beef, while the family hosted a lavish banquet nearby, laughing and drinking. That wasn’t the right way to do it… at least set up the host’s table in another room. There’s still a lot to learn about the psychology of tourism to make your place great.

“Un' esperienza originale”

Chay Hang and her family are very hospitable and kind. They invited me to join a family gathering of the Mong ethnic group, and we all spent a pleasant evening together. I got to learn about some of their customs and traditions. About 10 minutes by motorcycle from the accommodation you can visit a beautiful waterfall. You can get close by motorcycle and then walk about 10 minutes to reach the falls, but the road is very narrow and can be slippery. Chay Hang can possibly accompany you.
