The beautiful location. It was not suitable for us because we had a small child who has allergic reactions to mosquito bites, as the rooms are open. We did not see this when we booked. Consequently we had to move to another location.

The place sits right in the jungle and it’s a visual treat. My cabin was spotless, and the staff went above and beyond—from arranging tuk‑tuk rides to whipping up tasty breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, and always checking in to see how things were going.

The minimalist setup blends perfectly with nature. The only downside is the relentless mosquitoes; you really need a good repellent.

It was a unique and enriching experience to sleep almost outdoors in such a natural setting. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff—both the kitchen lady and the front‑desk team—were very friendly. You can spot a lot of birds and other wildlife in the hotel’s own garden. They offer free transport to Unawatuna beach, which I didn’t use because I had a car, but it’s a nice perk. The top of the cabins is open, letting in a lot of mosquitoes; the beds have screens, but they’re not enough. They do provide a natural repellent that helps with bites. There’s also a lack of lighting for nighttime, probably to reduce mosquito attraction.

It’s an amazing spot right next to nature. The rooms are super comfy, the vibe is relaxed and soothing, and you can see plenty of birds, squirrels, monkeys, and more. Everyone is kind, open, and it’s a real pleasure to stay here. Huge thanks to Ruwan, Kanthi, Yasanka, and the rest for their hospitality and assistance. The food is incredible—definitely the best I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to come back on my next trip to Sri Lanka.
