A 10‑minute walk brings guests to the Intercity bus depot and Central Station, while the nearby Cashel Street shopping district and SOL Square are just 900 m away. The hostel features a shared kitchen, BBQ terrace, tour desk, free Wi‑Fi, and comfortable rooms with linens and shared bathrooms. The airport lies 10 km away.

A genuinely solid spot in Christchurch, just a bus ride from the airport and close to the city center; the staff were great and the four‑bed dorms were spacious. The toilets and showers were clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the garden area was a nice place to hang out. Everything you need, especially considering the price.

The location matched what was advertised, but the marketing was misleading and the management interaction was very disappointing. We booked four bunks expecting to stay together in a four‑bunk room, yet the contact details on the website didn’t work and we were split into different rooms upon arrival. The manager’s response was dismissive and disrespectful, focusing only on the non‑refundable policy instead of solving the problem. Because the accommodation didn’t meet our reasonable expectations, we left and found better lodging elsewhere. Overall, a very let‑down experience in terms of advertising, communication, and complaint handling. Warning: double‑check before booking; I doubt the recent reviews are authentic after staying here.

A superb weekend – the manager was hospitable, friendly, and welcoming, even inviting many guests to a bar to watch the Warriors and play pool, creating a lovely evening. It was better than staying at the hostel alone, and he deserves praise for bringing people together. I’ll be back. Cheers to you.

The location was convenient, close to the city. The kitchen area was fine, similar to other hostels. The recycling bins lacked labels, so I didn’t know which was for rubbish and which for recycling; there was no bin for food scraps for hens or composting. On the third night I felt cold in the room, unsure if a heater was present, so I used a duvet from the room above and my own blanket to stay warm. Apart from that, I managed. I’ll stay again, hoping to know next time if there is a heater.
