The property looks like a fairy‑tale castle, but it’s actually 4.5 km from the stupas, not 1.5 km; the staff are rather reserved, and there’s a pile of dirt under the bed that has accumulated since the bed was put there—yuck!

“Hochmotivierte Mitarbeiter - hier funktioniert alles!”

The hotel manager and even the parking guard were outstanding, and the reception staff went above and beyond by arranging a car with a driver for us at a reasonable price, which wasn’t easy to find. Housekeeping was superb and the restaurant was excellent – the Dhal Makhani is a rare treat these days. When we asked, they set up a table on a small lawn next to the pool for us. The only downside is that even when no weddings are happening, the night can get pretty loud because nearby venues blast music until after midnight.

“Grand hôtel très confortable, un peu anonyme et bruyant les soirs de mariage.”

The room was huge, with a great view, a comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom. We didn’t have time to use the pool. The hotel is used for weddings, so it feels a bit anonymous and noisy on wedding days, like the evening we stayed. The noise on a wedding night and the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere were the main negatives.

“Séjour moyen, sans réel intérêt hormis la visite du site “héritage “ de Sanchi.”

The building has an Indian palace style and the room was comfortable. The only drawbacks were that it’s outside Sanchi town, there’s no public transport—only taxis arranged by the hotel at steep rates—and there’s no continental‑style menu.

“It was an excellent stay”

The room, facilities, restaurant, and pool were all excellent, and the staff were well trained and courteous.
