The location is great, right next to the dunes so you can walk straight out. There's not much in the way of neighbors and you can eat on site, which was excellent – thanks, Khadija! The only downside was the room description that said “mountain view”; we actually only had a view of the parking lot and a window that looked straight into the corridor (with curtains, of course). That should be clarified in the listing.

The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, the bedding was comfy, and the fridge was a rare find in local hotels; parking was free. Unfortunately, parts of the building were under renovation, which was a shame. The view of the dunes was marred by tourist tents. The dinner was mediocre and the breakfast uninteresting. Moreover, the tables weren't set and guests had to clear their own dishes. A pool tile was completely detached, posing a risk of injury.

The hotel sits right beside the dunes, and the staff were very polite and helpful. However, locating it was a challenge: a few hundred metres down an unmarked dirt track and behind a larger hotel, with only a tiny sign at the spot itself. The room was far too hot and the air‑conditioning barely cooled it. Cleanliness was generally fine, but there were blood spots on the sheets.

Dune House was a highlight of our Morocco trip, a gem just a stone’s throw from the sand dunes. We were the only ones sharing rooms, yet the twin beds were large in a spacious room. Exiting the room revealed a lounge and a patio where we ate while watching the sunrise and the evening turn into a starlit night. Overall, a magical stay at Erg El Chebbi. The staff were a real asset; Mohammed and Rajji were exceptional in courtesy and cooking. Go for it—you’ll love it. The only downside was the difficulty of finding it; better signage is needed.
