The restaurant was superb. All the staff in the restaurant were so kind, friendly, welcoming, and the food was outstanding. We were overcharged £30 on a bottle of wine that we had, and the receptionist couldn’t sort this before we left, making us feel like liars. The next day we were refunded £27. It was not a very nice welcome to start and an even less nice departure.

The room was great sized. The bed was firm and very comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was very good. The staff were amazing.

I loved how quiet the spot was and the location was spot on, but the place could use a touch of polish—there were scuff marks on the walls and a few other little flaws.

The Peat Inn turned out to be a real treasure; after a family loss we were running late for check‑in and dinner, yet the receptionist went out of her way to reschedule our meal for a later time. The rooms and bathrooms were gorgeous and immaculately clean, and the food and service were outstanding. It’s pricey, but I still think it’s worth the extra cost and makes an ideal base for exploring Fife. The only downside was that breakfast was delivered to our room, which almost made me rethink booking, but the setup with a small dining table and the tasty food made it a breeze.
