The groom was so kind and respectful, and the SPA staff were great. I had to change rooms because of security concerns about the exterior and interior door locks, and the new bathroom was leaking; the hostess had to fix these problems but wasn’t very understanding about the fact that the eggs for breakfast were prepared on the same tray as the pork sausages.

The hotel is in a good spot, and the shuttle boat was a real help; the staff were very helpful, and when the air‑con broke down it was fixed quickly (thanks). I was also allowed to check out later, which was nice. However, after staying at Le Suffren four or five times, the room and especially the bathroom feel a bit dated now; the shower door edges are slightly mouldy and the tiles look worn out, though it’s only a minor issue.

The concierge, Meetun, was very friendly, arranged car hire, gave maps and suggestions on where to go, and also arranged beach towels—thanks. It was very noisy on Friday nights. I requested two rooms with breakfast and dinner, but breakfast and dinner were excluded—why? I was locked out of my room twice with the key card, there wasn’t enough parking, the showers need upgrading, the air‑conditioning in one room was exceptionally noisy, the light behind the TV unit didn’t work, and the chair was broken.

Breakfast was fine and the location was okay, but the connection boat to better restaurants was down most of my stay, so I had to take a mini‑van to the other side. Laundry and SPA were very cheap by EU standards. The hotel is infested with tiny ants; my bed, bathroom, floor, and tables were covered, likely because plants are growing up the outside walls unmitigated. I complained to reception, who “sent cleaning,” but that made next to no difference. Waking up with tiny creatures crawling over you, even if they didn’t bite, was not a nice experience. The “renovated” hotel also felt slightly worn already, with grey doors bashed and scuffed. This hotel is not worth the price paid, and the reception staff didn’t even ask how my stay was on exit.
