“Wij hebben het wel voor de rest na ons zin gehad.”
We didn’t have breakfast. We ate a few evenings at the hotel, which was fine, but the choices were limited and we ate mostly outside. That made the location perfect for us because you can walk everywhere and there’s plenty to eat nearby. The food could have been more varied, the pool could have been warmer, and the bathroom could use a facelift. We didn’t always have hot water for showers, but other family members did, probably depending on where your room is, which shouldn’t make a difference.
“Hygiëne en onderhoud maakt je hotel aantrekkelijk voor gasten.”
The pool was the only bright spot, practically all to ourselves, and breakfast was tasty, while the staff were friendly albeit slow. The rooms were a huge disappointment: not clean, mold everywhere in the bathroom, a broken shower curtain that let water everywhere, barely any hot water, and they made a fuss over extra towels so we had to reuse the same ones for swimming – they were stained and not clean. The toilet leaked and they covered it with a soaking bath mat; once the room wasn’t cleaned at all after we were away all day. At reception the girls seemed unsure of their duties and how to handle problems; I wanted to upgrade my room on arrival but they couldn’t or wouldn’t, saying other rooms were occupied, and swapping one of the two rooms made little difference. There are many issues to address: the bathrooms need a serious scrubbing of all tiles, no shower curtain because it fosters mold, at least two decent rolls of toilet paper (the ones provided were too thin), four towels for a double room (two small, two large plus a hand towel), and overall maintenance – the wooden doors are rotting from moisture, walls have holes and cracks, the air‑conditioning needs regular cleaning and filter changes every three months. I’m writing this feedback so the hotel can improve for future guests.
“Nice place to stay”
A great place to stay. I had a big room on floor 6 with a great view of Ambon and the sea. The staff are nice.
“Verblijft goed uitstekend service”
Good. If something is broken with the bathroom door or the shower tap, that’s a problem.
“Ambon città di passaggio per altre mete”
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the staff were available; the floor was non‑smoking. The building needs a facelift—there was even a metal towel rack that fell in the bathroom, it was unkempt, and there was no soap in the bathroom. Breakfast was only Asian, sparse, cold, and there was no napkin. There were also a few cockroaches on the floor. The Wi‑Fi in the room didn’t work, only in the hall, which was the cherry on top. I chose this hotel because I had to stay for three days in Ambon and it had a pool. The pool was basically a small kiddie pool with no comfortable chairs, just bar tables, and what was shocking was that about 30 kindergarten kids arrived while we were there (apparently they have a deal with the school). Imagine trying to stay in that situation—nice for the kids, but impossible for guests. The next day the same scene happened because they moved all tables and chairs for a kids’ birthday party. If this is a hotel with a pool, it’s absolutely not recommended; there are nearby places that might not have a pool but are definitely better.
