Karine and Olivier were perfect and very warm hosts; the accommodation is wonderfully situated, tastefully decorated, and the breakfast was exceptionally good and plentiful. A truly special highlight was Olivier’s tour of the Domaine’s land and the explanations about harvesting black truffles—very, very interesting! Thank you for the wonderful days in the Périgord! The décor is tasteful, but the location is inconvenient, the host is not very empathetic, speaking English… a disappointment, and the lighting at the venue after 21:00 is confusing—why is that?

The building is very beautiful, the room and suite are spacious, lovely and very well equipped. The establishment was renovated and decorated with taste, and the quality of the renovation is amazing. It’s very quiet, with only three rooms, so you quickly feel like you have the house to yourself.

It was a dream in the middle of nature. An extremely luxurious house, clean, comfortable, and a very attentive and friendly host. We were able to take an interesting tour of the truffle plantation and learned exciting information about truffle cultivation from Olivier. Thank you, Olivier.

The Domaine Truffier du Grand Merlhiot is far more than a lodging – it’s a magical place where time slows down and you feel calm from the moment you arrive. From the start you sense how much love, passion and style go into running this extraordinary property. Karin and Olivier are the warmest hosts you could wish for. Their passion for the estate and truffle culture is contagious, and the insights they share are fascinating. Karin’s kitchen is a delight – lovingly prepared and unforgettable. The rooms are beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. The entire estate radiates calm, elegance and authenticity. Whether by the pool, at dinner or walking through the truffle plantation, every moment feels special. Some places you visit; some places touch you. The Domaine Truffier du Grand Merlhiot clearly belongs to the latter category. We would have preferred not to leave at all and will definitely return. Thank you, dear Karin and Olivier, for this unforgettable time!
