After a deplorable welcome we found a room without a window! The photos are misleading. The location is on a high‑traffic national road right behind our room wall. Breakfast is very average and it’s impossible to relax by the pool because heavy trucks pass just 5 m away. Avoid it if you want peace and quiet!

The breakfast was very good, the room was spacious and meticulously detailed, and the cleanliness was impeccable, but the car traffic noise was somewhat disruptive.

The décor and breakfast were nice, yet the photos on Booking mislead about the pool area, which is smaller, along the road, and quickly shaded; a bit disappointing.

The accommodation was lovely with very friendly staff, and the facilities and location were perfect for a few relaxing days while exploring Puglia, but we probably underestimated that the place also hosts events; this meant we couldn’t dine at the restaurant on our last night, and on the first day we felt a bit like “intruders” because we were in swimwear at the pool while other guests were attending an event—no criticism of Masseria Ancella, just something to keep in mind for your own expectations.
