The location is fantastic and the hotel provided that immediate sense of relaxation.
The staff were very helpful and attentive, with no issues to report on their part.

However, I did find the room to be a bit chilly, and unfortunately, the heating didn't seem to be working.

“Never ever I’m going to stay here!”
The location and historic building were the only positives; the staff were very formal and cold, doing everything correctly but with no extra effort, and they charged me £15 for a one‑hour late check‑out – seriously? Their bar, advertised as a former bank manager’s cabinet, was only open two days a week. This is by far the only hotel among the 60+ countries I’ve visited in the last 25 years where you have to pay extra for the in‑house spa, swimming pool, and gym – all for over £300 a night.
“We were misled and should not have been sold a room if there was a party happening until late in the hotel.”
The noise forced us to leave and we demanded a refund; a disco in the hotel played music so loud we couldn’t sleep, and it was scheduled to continue until midnight.
Everything was great, but the breakfast buffet was far too expensive for what was offered.

The bed was comfy and the shower was clean, but the room felt claustrophobic with no windows and the noise was terrible.

The coffee facilities in the room were decent and not expensive, but I wish the gym had been included in the room rate.
