We loved La Jolla, but the hotel was too pricey for what it offered; the rooms were small, noisy, and lacked comfort, so the money could have gone to a nicer place.

The hotel’s location was great and the facilities were solid, and my room offered a nice view over the pool. However, the AC was unbearably loud, making it hard to sleep, and the pool area, though well arranged for adults, was mainly used as a children’s play zone; parents and staff didn’t keep the kids in check, so the whole pool was filled with youngsters running and jumping, which ruined our last day.

The room had no windows. The triple room with a third bed was a 1920s cribs, and the cleanliness was unacceptably poor.

The location and the car valet service were convenient, and the staff were friendly, but everything else was lacking.
