“Mooie plek, slechte service bij een miscommunicatie”
Thanks to the help of the English‑speaking neighbor, the stay was somewhat okay. The location is nice, and unlike other nearby accommodations that are more in the woods, it sits by a little river. The room we had booked turned out to be unavailable because of a double booking—apparently the owner and external booking agents don’t communicate, leading to such overlaps. We thought that was fine, and we were offered an alternative room with very basic facilities: no internet, no door lock, a very simple bathroom, and a flickering fluorescent lamp. That’s not a disaster, we just needed somewhere to sleep and understood the circumstances. However, we were still charged the full price of the room we originally booked, with no room for discussion. The English‑speaking neighbor tried to mediate, but to no avail. It’s a shame to leave with a bitter aftertaste from a place that otherwise looks pretty good and has a nice setting.
