The Red Lion sits in a beautiful spot in Ainmouth Northumberland. It’s a nice hotel with comfortable rooms, and we stayed for two nights, but unfortunately our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, which was disappointing.

The staff were always helpful and friendly, going out of their way to accommodate our tight schedule. The pub felt like the village hub, with great live and piped music and good beer. The room was well equipped for drinks and shower needs, making it a solid choice. The only suggestion is to offer gluten‑free pizza bases, as we couldn’t eat there that evening.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pizzas, made on site, were fantastic and good value. Breakfast was also very good. Parking: we found some on‑street spots, but had to drop the luggage at the hotel first.

The room was cozy, well decorated, and clean. There was no bath, but that was fine because the shower was brilliant.

A truly welcoming, laid‑back place with a very comfortable room, good breakfast, and great position. It’s a shame they only serve (good) pizza in the evenings.
