I made a quick last‑minute decision to stay at Villa Dende Lombok, only 5 minutes from Siloam Mataram, and had no complaints about the £8 bed, the hosts were good, the location fit my needs, and the pool area was very pretty; I recommend using the GRAB app to order food or breakfast since it isn’t included, but the hosts would help if you ask; the villa also hosts a massage teaching centre, where I spent an enjoyable hour chatting and watching young massage students film their National Level LKS Competition Video next to the pool; the hosts were great and even dropped me off the next day. The only downside was the bathroom—tired but serviceable, the sink could use bleach, but that may have been due to the quick booking I made.
The sheets, bathroom, and toilets were dirty.
The place is super, unbeatable value for money, right in the heart of Mataram yet so calm and soothing; the garden and pool are a real plus!
The staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms were filthy and outdated—just look at the photos. I would never recommend this hostel.
