“An incredible resort with a few details that need improvement”

F airmont Kea Lani was truly an extraordinary resort and one of the most beautiful hotels we stayed at on our honeymoon. The property is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous surroundings, a luxurious atmosphere, and a sense of tranquility that feels like paradise. A highlight was the in‑room dining: we ordered dinner through room service, and the food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite a few inconveniences, this is a special property that left us with wonderful memories and we would definitely consider returning. However, a few things could be improved. First, we found a gecko in our room—while we understand that Hawaii has wildlife, it was still an unpleasant surprise. Also, the rooms are spread out across the property, making it a bit inconvenient to move around. Our main disappointment was the adults‑only pool. Throughout our stay, it was extremely hard to find available sun loungers; many guests would leave personal items on loungers to reserve them and then disappear for long periods, leaving the chairs unused but unavailable to others. When we asked staff about this, they suggested using the children’s pool instead, which we found unsuitable. The children’s pool area is less comfortable for adults seeking a quiet, relaxing experience, especially when the resort specifically offers an adults‑only pool. At a resort of this caliber, we expected better management of reserved loungers and a more proactive approach to ensuring guests can actually enjoy the facilities. This was disappointing, particularly because the rest of the resort experience was so wonderful.

“Absolutely loved it - relaxing and beautiful grounds”

The property is incredible, the staff are super nice, all the restaurants are great, and the massage I had at the spa was amazing. It’s right on the beach with lots of pools to lounge by. I love the gym—newer equipment and four Pelotons with a nice view! The beach path walk is also right there. We booked last minute for our honeymoon because the Westin had no power for days, and we’re glad we did—we’ll definitely stay here again. The only downside is that all the restaurants are a bit expensive, but that’s to be expected. You can drive five minutes for great food nearby. I wish the coffee was better—we went to Island Vintage every morning.

“Great family hotel with friendly staff - special thanks to Shayna Bukuson formall her help!”

I was drawn to the hotel because of its convenient location and the fact that it’s geared toward families, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The Pilina Restaurant and its bar turned out to be a highlight. We ran into a few room issues at first and had to switch rooms twice, but Manager Shayna Buluson stepped in and made sure everything worked out smoothly. Thanks, Shayna! The only downside was the breakfast buffet, and the extra charge for the spa and sauna.
