Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and on my wife’s birthday a breakfast table was set up and decorated, which we really appreciated. However, the family flat arrived missing a kettle and a toaster; the kettle was brought right away when we asked.

We could store our bikes in the hotel’s underground parking, and the breakfast was fantastic and very extensive!

The hotel is easy to find with GPS and the parking is down a ramp just past the building; the reception is on the first floor, which also hosts the bar and breakfast area. Our room was huge—more like a suite with separate sleeping and sitting zones and a large bathroom—plus a swivel TV that works in both areas. We arrived early and the room was ready, which was great. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the outdoor veranda after a day in town; the spot is lovely and you can hear the river. Use the room key to enter the hotel in the evening (no reception or bar after about 10 pm). Breakfast was decent but chaotic; at first we couldn’t find a seat, were directed to another room, and then a table was found in the main area. It felt like everyone arrived for breakfast at once and the staff were doing their best to clear tables. The hotel is very close to cafés and shops, and a short walk across the old bridge leads to the old town, which is amazing—one of the largest concentrations of half‑timbered houses anywhere.

Some areas need renovation, parking is scarce, but there’s a parking garage next door. Breakfast is plentiful, the staff are very nice, but the surroundings are a real pity.
