“Not impressed based on the Booking.com ratings for this hotel”

The location is great, just a stone’s throw from downtown. I stayed in the king suite on the 4th floor facing the street, and the room had a very musty odor. The single‑pane windows let in all the street noise—cars with loud mufflers, Harley‑Davidson motorcycles that seemed to have no mufflers, and drunken conversations from bar patrons smoking outside. I was there on Friday and Saturday nights when a live band played hard rock until midnight, so loud that I kept checking the windows to make sure they were closed.

I adore this gorgeous historic hotel; the staff were incredibly friendly and the room looked stunning. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and charming shops, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

“Shabby, shabby, shabby”

Centrally located, historical, very nice staff. The room I was shown at booking in April wasn’t remotely the room I was given. The kitchen was much smaller and had no microwave. It did not even have two chairs or a decent table for us to share a meal. It was shabby, with torn bedding, shabby vanity, shabby table, only one chair, a lamp that couldn’t safely be plugged in because cord was short. Spots on walls and overall mot maintained. Because of photos we received we planned on warming up food but there was no microwave. No where to sit and it was not what I expect for a 3 star

“I enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back. Loved all the old history and photos.”

The room was on the top floor (4th floor) and had two windows offering views of downtown to the east and north. It was also one of the dog‑friendly rooms and came with a ceiling fan. The room was small, but that’s to be expected in an old historic hotel.

The room matched what I had anticipated and was very comfortable.
