“Cute room above pub”

I stayed at this cute pub and found the room surprisingly spacious with a very comfortable bed; the shared bathroom was clean and roomy, making it suitable for a couple of nights. We booked during the week and heard a gentle hum of music and laughter from the pub. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we received a complimentary drink upon arrival, which was great. When we left, we left the keys in the door because the pub wasn’t open until 10 am. The location is close to the castle and only an 8‑minute walk from the beach, and there’s a small grocery shop just 2 minutes away.

“Comfortable and value for money”

The evening food menu was good, and the service was very good, especially Jack. Even with the building’s limitations, en‑suite rooms would be a major improvement.

The pub was lovely, with great food and drink, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location in the village was excellent, and the bedroom was fine with a cottage feel. I appreciated that we had a room upstairs in the pub instead of the private Lodge, which would have been a better option. As a couple of mates hiking, we didn’t mind, but I wouldn’t think my wife would like to share a bathroom with a staff member on the same floor. The bathroom was full of residents’ personal items, old shampoo bottles, etc. I don’t want to be too negative, but overall it was a really pleasant stay; the bathroom situation just wasn’t good.
