The garden was beautifully flowered and well maintained, and the outdoor pool was large. The apartment’s terrace offered a sunset view, and the upstairs apartment was spacious. A parking spot was available, and the location was great for scenic gravel bike rides. The sofa in the living room had clearly seen better days, and the master bedroom mattress was uncomfortable because it was a spring type.

“Esperienze umbre”

The agriturismo “il Barco” became the place we chose at the last minute to spend a night and fully enjoy the green, gentle Umbrian countryside around Spello. The property exudes a romantic charm and the authentic spirit of a typical Italian country house, which you feel as soon as you cross the gate and stroll through the meticulously tended garden, and you experience it fully when you step inside. Unlike any other B&B where guests are confined to the sleeping area, we could enjoy the comfort of a real small apartment for a modest price. We were very pleased with the warm surroundings and the host’s hospitality, with whom we had a pleasant chat and who directed us to a great restaurant for dinner. If the weather had been a bit warmer, we would have taken advantage of the large pool at the site for one last dip and to say goodbye to the summer. Our short stay was very positive. If you want to immerse yourself in the timeless atmosphere of a farmhouse in Umbria, “il Barco” is a place I absolutely recommend. We’ll return!

The location is excellent, very close to both Spello and Assisi. It’s a quiet and comfortable place. The hospitality and discretion of Mrs. Ernesta deserve mention.

Location for anyone who values being off the beaten path. Great base for exploring Asyż, Perugia, Spoleto, and other regional cities, close to Spello’s center, shops, and restaurants. Large, deep pool. The property is well kept, though it’s past its prime. The lovely host, Ernesta, is friendly even though we didn’t speak English; we got along well with Google Translate on our phones. Weak Wi‑Fi.
