The place was nice, with well-kept gardens and a friendly concierge and bus driver. However, my room was never cleaned during my five-night stay—no fresh towels or bed linen, and the bins were not emptied. There was nowhere to have breakfast; they only sold coffee at the hotel.

A day before my scheduled check‑in, the hotel staff called me to inform me of a water leakage issue and that they couldn’t accommodate me, so I had to cancel and find another place. They still charged me for the night, and I received no explanation or response from them.

The renovated castle is stunning, set in a fabulous environment with helpful staff—one of them even handed my son a free ice cream upon check‑in. It’s very close to Budapest by car and the prices are fairly low, making it worth every penny, not to mention the view. The only problem was that the restaurant was closed in the morning, so we had to order from another venue or go out to eat elsewhere; the reception gave us a good suggestion.
