“Good restaurant food! When open.”

The host was very pleasant upon arrival and very helpful. The restaurant served delicious food in the evening, and our waitress was brilliant, friendly, and charming. Adding a pedestal fan in our room was a nice touch. The room and bed were clean. The main disappointment was that the hotel advertised a full breakfast inside the pub, with a large array of choices, but when we arrived there was no morning chef and the pub was closed until lunchtime. We were left with a bag outside our room containing only a few “continental breakfast” items, which was disappointing because we had no fridge to keep them fresh and couldn’t heat a pre‑packed croissant. There were no cold meats or other options. The welcome book still said to go to the pub dining area for breakfast. The next morning we went to a local deli and café for a proper coffee and breakfast, and the pub offered no refund or discount for the missed breakfast.

The location and the pub were good. Breakfast, or the lack of it, was a negative.

“great will book again”

The bar and waiting were brilliant, and Peter, the manager, was pleasant, making the staff laugh instead of looking miserable and glum. The food was lovely, there was no noise, and it was perfect for us. It was nice to hear church bells, since we haven’t stayed in a village since getting married nearly 56 years ago. Someone stole our breakfast outside our room on the last day; don’t blame the company because some moron is a thief.

“Exactly what I needed--a room at a good price for a local function”

The staff were nice and the process was easy. The room was decent with direct outside access, clean, and fuss‑free. They don’t serve breakfast, which I miss when traveling because they don’t open the restaurant. I received a breakfast bag with a croissant, cereal bar, and an apple.

“Never again.”

Room was a good size, comfortable reading seats. Room was in a block beyond the pub so easy access and very peaceful when we visited. A very good location for us to attend an appointment the next day. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was pretty grim. Very spicy seafood linguini and ribs in great abundance with a sweetcorn and no slaw. Breakfast was appalling. A paper bag was left in front of the room with dry flaky croissants,Flora spread,cheap jam and lukewarm orange juice. Not a breakfast at all really and described by as ‘very good breakfast’ I cannot agree with that comment at all! There was no water to drink in the room so I went to the bar to buy some water and this cost £5.00. The water pressure to the shower was poor and the shower curtain draped around the bath occupant and dangled onto the bath floor creating a trip hazard. The TV didn’t work properly so we abandoned our efforts. In the decking area where we sat with our friends on Sunday afternoon there was a rowdy family group, shouting,playing football and despite having children were loudly swearing and indeed one of the children was also shouting the F word. All in all not a good visit and will not be repeated. It was not enjoyable or restful
